Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a form of therapy in which a client is treated on a one-on-one basis with a therapist.  The client and therapist develop common goals for therapy that inspire change or improve the quality of life of the client.  The therapist tailors the process to the client’s unique needs by exploring contributing factors, helping the client become more self-aware, and providing clients strategies to alleviate symptoms.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy is a specialized form of psychotherapy conducted by trained therapists. It aims to assist couples in resolving conflicts, enhancing communication, and strengthening their relationship. Grounded in evidence-based techniques and theories, couples therapy draws from psychological principles to address a spectrum of relational challenges. Through structured sessions, therapists guide couples in exploring underlying issues, fostering effective communication strategies, and cultivating healthier patterns of interaction. This collaborative process is informed by research and clinical expertise, with the goal of facilitating constructive dialogue, rebuilding trust, and fostering mutual understanding within the relationship.

Family Therapy

Family therapy is a form of treatment that addresses the behaviors of all family members and the way these behaviors affect individual family members, the relationships between family members and the family unit as a whole. The sessions help family members understand and support each other by improving communication, solving family problems, understanding and handling special family situations.

Family therapy may include the following:

  • talking about each person’s hopes;
  • encourage everyone to talk about their experiences and listen to each other;
  • clarify each person’s beliefs, values, needs, hopes and assumptions so that everyone understands each other;
  • help families stop blaming each other and begin exploring how everyone can work together to make positive changes;
  • help people understand the impact of their words and behaviours on other members of the family;
  • help families talk about the challenges they’re facing; and
  • support families as they work through their own goals.
